WTIU is a nonprofit student campus based radio and
television station where I worked as a volunteer, intern and paid crew member
for a number of years in addition to my academic tenure with Indiana
University. WTIU sponsors a fund drive
and supports many local talents in the Bloomington, Indiana area and of course
all sports personalities and events. The primary fundraising utilized at the
time was a mini telethon or phone-a-thon for the student station to maintain
it’s support and relationships with patron donors who actively have a
supportive role in station operations and broadcast.
Designed and wrote a blog radio program as a marketing
strategy that introduced blog radio as a nonprofit entity’s fundraising strategy
to employ blog radio as a broadcast medium, exploiting blog radio’s advantage
in a large media sector and to utilize the connectivity and social relaxation,
peer support, exchange of information and education tools that are essential in
fund raising strategies which blog radio provides as a vehicle within the
family and community philanthropic sectors. The blog radio pilot program was
designed as a fundraising program action plan for a local nonprofit entity
wanting to reach a large audience or the maximum number of persons
simultaneously yet efficiently.
Researched fund raising circles, market evaluations and
forecast for giving programs within gift markets. Utilization of conversational
and internal organizational communicable arts to show competency and induce
interaction with major, individual donor communities, and family foundations
involvement with the nonprofit fundraising program.
Specialized experiential performance employing pre-tested
direct mail scripts as a sales strategy, targeted to connect with
prospect/constituents providing product identification, renewal of past
prospects/constituents commitments, retention of clients for repeat business
relationships and purchase order completion.
Directed phone communication as conversational and
persuasive language for purposes of conveyance and interpersonal exchange of
product knowledge. PBX and digital application, fulfillment of account
receivables for a high paced, virtual sales organizational culture requiring
adaptable, strong communication skills to create expert copy ad visualization
of product inventories toward individualized client repaired inclusive of print
media, and novelties of authenticy. Lead generation, appointment setting,
detailed timely reporting, consultative sales, scheduled call backs,
fulfillment for a major marketing company.
